Embracing Summer Vibes: July Favorites

Hey hey hey! Summer is in full swing and I can’t wait to share my absolute favorite products from July! Overall, it was a very busy month — weddings, a trip to the Maldives, and of course, work, so these little gems I found have definitely brightened up my days. From skincare treats that work wonders and make me feel like a glowing goddess, to delightful romances, and of course, some fun-in-the-sun essentials these are my favorite finds! So grab your iced coffee and lets chat about the packable sun hat I’ll be bringing with me everywhere, the OSEA Undaria Algae Body Oil, Coola SPF 50 Body Sunscreen, Love Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood, and pool floaties. These are all must haves for summer vibes so let’s dive in!

Packable Sun Hat

This packable sun hat was a last minute buy before I left for the Maldives and is one of my favorite things I brought. First, isn’t it so cute?? Second, it rolls up so it’s SO EASY to pack. And, because of its design, it keeps its shape even after you pack it! Of course, the main reason I got it was that a hat is a very necessary accessory for summer and this one let’s me keep my normal hairstyle (messy buns for the win) while shading my face. It’s cute, super functionable, and easy to bring anywhere! Perfect for summer pool days.

Skin Care Heaven with OSEA Undaria Algae Body Oil

Now you may already be familiar with this after seeing it everywhere. When Ulta had their minis sale, I took the plunge to try it and OH MY GOSH IT’S SO GOOD. If you’re looking for natural skincare for glowing skin, you need to try this. It’s definitely the best body oil for summer vibes! It’s a little spendier than what I normally gravitate towards, but WORTH. EVERY. PENNY.

  • High level overview:
    • Vegan
    • Clean
    • Cruelty free
    • Smells delicious (citrusy)
    • Absorbs quickly and feels light
  • Made from natural ingredients like undaria seaweed (replenish your skin’s moisture barrier), white lupin (a flower to improve elasticity), and a blend of passion fruit, acai, babassu, and rice brain oils to moisturize.

I love this because it absorbs quickly, smells good, and isn’t heavy (perfect for summer!). Most importantly, this little miracle product is actually making all the little bumps on my arms (strawberry skin) go away! Seriously, for that alone, I’d pay the big bucks. Idk what makes it do that or if it works for everyone but I will now be buying this in perpetuity and I’ll look like a glowing goddess along the way.

Summer Vibes and Sun-Kissed Protection with COOLA SPF 50 Body Sunscreen

I went to the Maldives in July and you can bet that I packed a ton of sunscreen because I didn’t fly halfway across the world to get a sunburn. The COOLA SPF 50 Body Sunscreen is a must-have for summer adventures and your summer sun care! Plus, it channels summer vibes with its delicious Guava Mango scent!

  • Benefits:
    • SPF 50 Broad Spectrum protection – no worries about sunburns when you apply like the instructions say (don’t forget to reapply!)
    • Water resistant for 80 minutes
    • Non greasy formula

I legitimately used this every day, did not burn, and had the time of my life in the Maldives. As a pale person, this product was WONDERFUL and needs to get added into your summer sun care collection. There’s also a spray version!

A Heartwarming Read: “Love, Theoretically” by Ali Hazelwood

What’s a pool or a beach day without a fun read? Here’s one you definitely need to try! Ali Hazelwood (author of “The Love Hypothesis”) wrote another steminist novel called “Love, Theoretically.” Here’s the book blurb from goodreads:

The many lives of theoretical physicist Elsie Hannaway have finally caught up with her. By day, she’s an adjunct professor, toiling away at grading labs and teaching thermodynamics in the hopes of landing tenure. By other day, Elsie makes up for her non-existent paycheck by offering her services as a fake girlfriend, tapping into her expertly honed people pleasing skills to embody whichever version of herself the client needs.

Honestly, it’s a pretty sweet gig—until her carefully constructed Elsie-verse comes crashing down. Because Jack Smith, the annoyingly attractive and broody older brother of her favorite client, turns out to be the cold-hearted experimental physicist who ruined her mentor’s career and undermined the reputation of theorists everywhere. And that same Jack who now sits on the hiring committee at MIT, right between Elsie and her dream job.

Elsie is prepared for an all-out war of scholarly sabotage but…those long, penetrating looks? Not having to be anything other than her true self when she’s with him? Will falling into an experimentalist’s orbit finally tempt her to put her most guarded theories on love into practice?

It was a cute book that I had so much fun reading! The characters are relatable and I love Hazelwood’s writing style. This heartwarming romance novel was a perfect escape to read after a busy day at the office.

Lounging in Style with the Target Inflatable Inner Tube

Would it really be summer without some lazy days by the pool? Well, maybe. But let’s say no. nd what better way to level up your pool game than with a trendy inflatable tube? This cute inner tube was part of Target’s current summer pool floaties collection and I loved the print! It totally channels summer vibes and makes me happy. Plus, it had cupholders!

Design benefits:

  • Cupholders!
  • Large – actually comfortable to sit in
  • Totally cute and a perfect prop for the ‘gram!

Conclusion:

So that’s it! Those are my favorites from July to capture all of the summer vibes! If you’ve tried any of these out, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
